Walker was born in 1976 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Walker is an American born with African American roots. She is the daughter of Harvey Welker, a Native American father, as well as Julie Welker, an African American Mother. The daughter is a Native American father and an African-American mother. Walker was educated in the Germantown Friends School (Germantown area) in Philadelphia where she graduated in 1994. In 1998, Walker earned an undergraduate degree at Harvard College. Welker is engaged to John Hughes a well-known marketing director for Merck located in Philadelphia and the couple has two children. The couple began in 2014 having an affair. John, John's husband is a year older than him. It was going great which is why they chose to keep their friendship going. The 4th of March 2017 was the day that the couple got married.
